Video surveillance in public places is an important measure to ensure public safety.
With the development of video technology, analog cameras are being phased out and high-definition cameras are being used in large numbers. Single-channel video storage bandwidth increases, video storage time increases, and mass storage is the inevitable trend. As the number of cameras increases, so does the concurrent input and output, which puts higher demands on the storage efficiency and data integrity of video surveillance systems.
The core technology of the cloud video platform is cloud computing, in addition to improving read and write performance, it can also achieve dynamic distribution and load balancing of system services according to network and equipment configuration. The configuration principle of the cloud video platform for real-time video streaming is: the cloud video platform can automatically detect the new cameras in the network and make configuration accordingly, related information of the new cameras will be automatically written to the cloud video server which is selected by the cloud platform according to the principle of load sharing. At the same time, fixed space is allocated in the disk array according to the storage time required for each video, to meet the real-time video stream write. When storage space is insufficient (e.g., storage time is changed from 3 days to 30 days), the cloud platform has the flexibility to expand on demand without affecting existing business.
